HOW TO JAILBREAK/ACTIVATE A 1.1.2 OTB (Bootloader 4.6) with TURBOSIM

We do NOT sell the TurboSIM here in Australia

We do NOT provide support for this method
STEP 1 - DOWNGRADE YOUR 1.1.2 OTB to 1.1.1

1. Download 1.1.1 firmware here:

http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....a_Restore.ipsw

2. Start iPhone in recovery mode: press both, sleep and home button for 10 seconds, as soon as the display turns black, release the sleep button but still hold the home button for another 10 seconds

3. Connect the iPhone to your PC and start iTunes 7.5; iTunes will report that it found an iPhone in recovery mode; press the restore button WHILE holding the SHIFT-key; in the upcoming filechooser just choose the 1.1.1-firmware-file (iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw) you just downloaded; iTunes will now downgrade the iPhone to 1.1.1 (which may take a while) and then report the errorcode 1015, which is not important and can be dismissed.

4. Shut down iTunes

STEP 2 - JAILBREAK and ACTIVATION

1. Download iBrickr here:

http://ibrickr.com/downloads/ibrickr_v0.91.zip

2. Unzip it to a folder of your choice on your PC

3. start iBrickr it will prompt you on how to get your phone out of recovery mode.

5. Click the Blue Installer icon, and wait for it to refresh, it will tell you that it found an update, click install and after it is done click the home button and wait for the iPhone to do a soft reset then slide to unlock.

6. (oktoprep) Open iTunes, Sync or setup if you have to and make sure you are on the main screen with update and restore buttons available. NOW on your phone click Installer (blue icon) and install Oktoprep, it is under Tweaks 1.1.1., and wait for it to say it is ok blah blah blah, then press home button and wait for a soft reset.(( do not restart phone ))

7. (update to 1.1.2) On iTunes press update. it will update your phone to 1.1.2 without errors, wait for it to finish, a picture of a plug will appear on the iPhone and it will tell you to slide to unlock in Gibberish, on iTunes it will tell you, that you need iTunes 7.5 or higher to activate you phone.

8. Shut down iTunes

9. Download and unpack this:
http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

10. open "jailbreak.jar" (JAVA has to be installed) and wait til the process is finished, iPhone will reboot twice during this
(if jailbreak.jar does not work, try windows.bat)

STEP 2 - DONE! Your iPhone is now jailbroken and activated running 1.1.2; all functions except making/receiving calls and sending/receiving SMS should be working.

STEP 3 - PREPARING and INSTALLING THE TURBOSIM

1. On your iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Auto Lock -> Never

2. Connect your iPhone to your WLAN (keep in mind or write down the IP your iPhone will have in your WLAN)

3. On your iPhone, start the Installer and install the following: BSD Subsystem, CommunitySources, and openSSH

4. Download and unzip these files to your PC:

http://rapidshare.com/files/7197445..._rev2.zip.html
http://rapidshare.com/files/7197770...abled.zip.html

5. Download and open WinSCP (if you don´t have it already) here:

http://winscp.net/download/winscp405setup.exe

6. With WinSCP connect to your iPhone; Protocol: SFTP / Server: your iPhones´ IP (see above) / Username: root / Password: alpine

7. Use WinSCP to copy the file "applesaft.trb" (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /private/var/root

8. Use WinSCP to copy all OTHER files (except "applesaft.trb") (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /bin

9. Mark the copied files in the folder /bin, right-click Info and give them 0755-rights

10. Use WinSCP to copy the file "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (from ComCenter_Disabled/Disabled) to the iPhone-folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/

11. Restart your iPhone

12. Cut out both SIMs, the original one supplied with the phone and your own, so they will fit perfectly into the TurboSim - do it carefully!

13. Put the original SIM supplied with the iPhone (not your own!) into the TurboSim and carefully insert it into your iPhone

14. Download PuTTy:

http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/.../x86/putty.exe

15. Start the PuTTy and connect using your iPhone IP address as the host name.

16. PuTTy should ask for a username, type "root". The root-password, which is "alpine" - so type "alpine" and hit Enter

17. Type "turbo-info" and hit Enter - some numbers should appear followed by an "OK. No Error" - or similar

18. Type "turbo-app /private/var/root/applesaft.trb" - so the file you copied to that location via SFTP will now be executed; after that an "OK" should appear

19. Rename the file "com.apple.CommCenter Kopie.plist" (on your harddrive) to "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (so without " Kopie", which is just the german word for copy) so that the name is identical with the one in the "disabled"-subfolder

20. Use WinSCP to copy the file "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (the one you just renamed) to the iPhone-folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ - so the original file will be there again (and not the "disabled" one)

21. Restart your iPhone

22. On your iPhone go to Settings -> Phone -> SIM Applications -> Apple Saft -> Set

23. Remove TurboSim and original SIM from the iPhone (carefully!)

24. Replace the original SIM with your own and put TurboSIM and your own SIM back into the iPhone (carefully!)

25. Restart your iPhone

STEP 3 - DONE! Your iPhone should now be fully operational!
